Default 2JZGE Radiator hose suggestions

What do you guys recommend for replacement GE radiator hoses? After 20 years, mine have finally bit the dust and began to crack. I want something that will last another 20 years. Please reply with any suggestions and sources.

Thanks,
T

Takaba, I'd recommend the factory upper and lower GE hoses, plus new OEM squeeze clamps (or standard screw type clamps if you prefer). They will last another good twenty years.

What I do not recommend is buying them from 99% of Lexus dealers.

Are the radiator hoses made from silicon for non turbo supras just a gimmick ?

At what point does the cooling efficiency of the lexus radiator become an issue ? Are the hoses compatible with supra radiators ?

I'm not sure they're a gimmick but there just isn't much need for such things on a non-turbo 2JZ-GE. The stock hoses are a very good design. Silicon hoses are used for intercoolers as well and those aren't gimmicks as far as I know.

The stock SC radiator's cooling efficiency becomes a problem with either excessive age or with the use of a turbocharger. You will need an aftermarket MKIV TT radiator to have the needed cooling efficiency for a turbo. Personally I recommend an aftermarket radiator for NA application as well but you don't explicitly need it with a stock 2JZ-GE.

Yes, the SC hoses are compatible with MKIV Supra radiators. It is when you have a GTE engine that your upper and lower radiator hoses need to be Supra TT style.

Thanks for the information everyone. Do you think I can order Supra 2JZGE hoses? I'm just curious if they are different in anyway. I assume they're identical, but then again, the radiator might be positioned further away in either vehicle.

Samco makes hoses for the JZZ31 2JZGE Soarer. I have them on my SC300. They are a direct replacement.

Depending on where you find them, they are listed as the Toyota Soarer 2JZ-GE JZZ31. Part # will be TCS89/C.
*Don't confuse these with their JZZ30 Soarer kit - that's for 1JZ-GTE's: TCS88/C

If you're looking for the best radiator hoses you can buy, these would be them.

There's also a newer silicone hose company that's been pretty successful over the last few years.
HPS.
They are made here in the USA, and they offer a huge variety of hoses for a bunch of different applications including the SC300. I recently bought their radiator hose kit and their intake tube for my IS300. I have yet to install the radiator hoses, but they look and feel the same as my SC300 Samco hoses. My reason for the purchase was that Samco doesn't offer any parts for the IS300, and a facebook and internet search yielded a lot of good reviews about them.

The uppers are identical for the supra GE, and the lower hose has different part numbers,

SC300 Upper hose part number 16571-46140
SC300 Lower hose part number 16572-46060

I paid about $41 dollars for both at a local lexus dealership while they were having a sale last month. I think normal price is about $55.
