I'll echo what I've been told to check for 1st. As I've got the 93' SC400. 1st check the power steering pump and hoses (leading cause to alternator failure - leaking) Then go into checking your ground wires. You may have just to fall on the sword and pick up a new battery.

I say this with experience. Since 2006, I've had to swap out my alternator and battery 3 different occasions.

My issue was the same symptoms, but I found a fix!

This is what happened, so basically the OEM battery was removed when the car was broken down and AAA came out to give t he car a new battery.

The problem was that AAA also removed the battery harness.

This led my battery to slide a little and then the terminals would come loose and lead to the battery not charging.

Please check this out, I just picked up an OEM battery harness for 13$ and it solved my mess of problems!

Get a volt meter and measure the voltage of your battery while the car is on. Should be around 14v if the alternator is charging it. Make sure the ground of the battery is also grounded to the chasis and engine.

Checked the battery voltage 14v so battery is good and alternator is good. The car is perfect today. Now just waiting for it to happen again. I'm thinking something is getting loose somewhere.

I have check everything in the car dropped off at the shop today because now if I turn on my head lights the car turns off.
Crazy, I wish it would be a broken part and just replace it. but this just not knowing I hate it.

I still say a ground issue somewhere. Report back your findings on this issue.
