ENGINE BLOCK Bolt Ears (holes) for Trans broken off
Hello all
I've been here on the forums for a few years now (5 or so I think?) and everytime I've been in need of some info you lot seem to be able to sort me out
Here's the short version.
My second transmission, an A340e that was installed on my 1993 SC400 has gone bad.
The new shop I'm using (Bold Performance in Tampa) has sourced and Iv'e bought and paid for a replacement A340e with about 57k miles on it from a Japanese LS400 that's in good condition for $425. SO I've got a paid for Trans there at the shop. All good on that front.
Then, when they were getting ready to get at the bell housing bolts and remove the trans they discovered:
"The Previous mechanic messed up. 2 bolt ears (holes) are cracked off the engine block, and there is 1 broken off bolt through the bell housing and in the block at a 3rd location that cant be removed without removing the entire engine."
So - any clue as to where this leaves me? Anyone had an experience like this?
My motor it's self is in AMAZING condition.... it would be a literal crying shame if it had to be put to pasture for some broken bolt holes.
