So I was sitting looking at my block now that it is torn down, and I want to remove all the oil galley plugs to the machine shop can clean the oil passages. How do you guys go about doing this? I am used to threaded holes with npt pugs, not this ball plug crap...
Ok, here is how I got them out. Weld a bolt to the plug, then used a slide hammer to pop the plug out. Once the front plugs are out, you can tap the back ones out with a long rod through the oil passages.
