Default Oil in spark plug area

Hello everyone I am new to this community and to the Lexus brand in general so please forgive my ignorance. I own a 95 sc300 and recently went to change the spark plugs out and there is oil pooled up in the compartment that the plugs sit in. I guess when someone put oil in it they missed the hole and it spilled in there idk. Any way my question is if I get most of the oil out and take the plugs out will any damage be done if oil gets in the holes? Thanks in advance for any input.

You should blow all the oil out with compressed air. You dont want oil in there because it will mess up the spark. No damaged would be done

Just put a rag in it to dry it up. It's probably coming from leaky valve cover gaskets. It took me 3 days to completely dry that off and finally be able to do my tune up back then. A little bit of oil getting in is not a problem, engine will burn it. And it's probably been seeping in it a little bit from time which gives you a white smoke from the exhaust.

Yea I used paper towels to soak up most of it the only left us in the crevices where the plugs are. The oil came from me not using a funnel when I changed the oil and some of it seeped into the compartment.

I always use iridium by Denso. I've seen these cheapest from RockAuto.com
