How old was the previous owner? Because when my dad bought his GS he thought it was accelerating out of control, but it was because he was used to his mammoth Suburban and '70 Chevelle's pedal spacing and hit both the gas and brake at the same time. Happened to him a few times, but he got the hang of it. Silly old people.

Well he's 69 now I think... that would make him 51 when he bought the car brand new. Honestly though at 69 he's still super sharp he looks like he maybe just hit 50. That's really not the case. The mechanic even told him to just put the car in neutral and shut it off if it ever happened again.

I think he know's a thing or two about driving though... he bought the SC400 for his girlfriend and he has been buying 911 Turbos his whole life every 3-4 years. He did the whole porsche driving school thing too but said the porsche test driver beat the **** out of his porsche and it was never the same after lol.

I have an issue where if i let off the gas pedal Suddenly such as in Throttle control while drifting or driving hard, When i give it gas again, the pedal will kind of Stick in the "Close" position, nothing major shes just getting old.

This whole recall thing tho... doesn't effect our cars

my sc300 has gotten stuck wot twice, but that is from the small rubber fitting coming off the adjustment bolt and getting under the throttle linkage therefore holding it open, always make sure to check little things like that

Well my dad's still fairly young and extremely sharp as well, but it could happen Doesn't sound like it's the case with your car though. There are cases of this happening all the time with various brands, but Toyota just got nailed for it big time. My buddy's Benz did the same thing last year and he just popped it into neutral.

My gf's old acura legend did this a while back. Cruise control cable got stuck. The patrol guy must have been accelerating for a while to crash at 140mph

I had cruise on at about 70mph in my SC and the car started accelerating....hitting the brakes did not cancel the cruise nor did pressing the cruise button, I finally had to throw it in neutral and kill the engine. I never figured out why it happened.

i know this thread is really old but my car is doing this now so im trying to do some research on it. it will accelerate itself from a dead stop and launch itself forward almost like its WOT evrything throttle body and evrtything looks like its closed shut but it is really scary. what is wierd is it did not do this when i bought the car wich ive had now for 3 weeks but it started doing this maybe 5 or 6 days after i got the car. i took it back and the dealership i bought it from is trying to figure out the problem. could this be the recall that they were refering to that affected sc400?
