Not hard.....if you have the knowledge and tools to do so. I completed my swap in a weekend. Minus waiting on parts to arrive.
Do a search. There are multiple threads of people asking the same question that you are.

Hard: no, relatively speaking.
What makes it easy? The SC300 came with a 5MT from the factory, so you simply have to source all of the stock parts used and you can have at it.
What makes it hard? If you don't understand the dynamics of the standard transmission and how everything interacts, you will need the help of a shop (or at least a trusted friend or group of friends). Also, the parts are somewhat difficult to come by used at times: patience is key if you are looking to save money by sourcing used parts.
Search the forum for the parts, but the parts list should look something like:
W58 transmission, clutch kit, and flywheel.
Clutch pedal, clutch cylinder, clutch lines, and 5MT brake pedal.
Shifter, shift ****, shift boot, and shift bezel.
I am not sure about the driveshaft needs for the SC300 a/t to 5MT swap. My knowledge primarily surrounds the V8. Foremost, I would start stashing away $1500+ to be safe that you have everything for the swap!
Good luck! It is always good to see first posters in the performance forum!

Here....reference this.

The walkthrough isn't finished. Prob. won't be for quite some time unless I get some serious interest. But it should help you with the parts needed and beginning steps to getting the swap under way.
