Default 1jz into a stock 5spd

ok, so i have a stock 5spd and was wondering...
1. if it is possible to buy just a motor and wiring for a 1jz and not the tranny with it? i just think i could possibly save some money that i dont need to spend because im not looking to make any more power than the stock w58 can hold.

2.when i do buy the 1jz, do i need to get one that came stock with a stick shift or can it be from a car with an auto?(just wondering if the ECU is different)

Thanks Guys

well it's been answered before but, I know that it's time consuming reading through the countless threads on this....so I'll help you out. It's tough to find a motor without the tranny...most are automatic sets. If you can find one with the soarer 5spd then jump all over that, it's a direct fit. If not just order one with the auto and sell the auto(usually easy) The auto ecu will work fine you just need to bypass the neutral safe switch. (easy ....couple wires...been covered in here before)... good luck and enjoy

Yup, you got it man. If you just want to use your W58, then just find an auto / no tranny one. use the auto ecu, do the trick to it. other than that, I believe you will be A-OK!

do you think i could just pick up the motor and ECU from somewhere local like XAT for a somewhat cheaper price, instead of trying to buy one from somewhere online like JHOT
