Default meagen GT or N1 ?

Exhaust will be coming up soon, I will be getting rid of the resonators and replacing the mufflers. Thought I'd ask about the Megan GT and N1 mufflers on ebay. They have 2 for like $135 seems like a good price but are they crappy mufflers and should I just go with the magnaflows ?

i dont think you will be too happy with them. they are pretty cheap and im sure that if you saved a little longer (if thats the case) you could afford something a little nicer like the magnaflows and really enjoy them. just my .02

How much are the magnaflows selling for these days??? I know they make the hi-flo cats - do they make anything else for our exhausts??

Thx,

You can get Maganflow hi-flow cats and 14829 street series mufflers. Borla makes an axle-back system ($500). Do-Luck, JIC Magic, Greddy, and I think Blitz make cat-back systems for the SC. Most exhaust systems for the SC300 will fit on the SC400 if I am thinking correctly. If you get creative and have $ to pay the exhaust shop, anything can be done .

Now about the primary topic...I have heard mixed opinions about the Megan GT and Megan N1. My philosophy is "if it seems too good to be true, it usually is". If the N1 is anything like the Apex-i N1, it will be pretty LOUD with no resonators. You can get a set of Magnaflows or Dynomax mufflers for just a little more and they are both great mufflers that several SC owners have actually used and can attest to their quality. Good luck.

the Biltz & Greddy Exhaust are also axle-back. The JIC is cat-back and I don't know about Do-Luck. I would just spend the extra money for something nice. I'm and going to soon go with dual Apex-i N1 3" mufflers and have it reduce down to 2.5".

The Blitz is only axle back.

What do you want your exhaust to sound like and what's your budget?

FWIW, mufflers are not distinctive to their manufacturers. An ebay N1 can is not inferior to a genuine N1. It's made of steel. It's welded together. Most ebay knock-offs even come packed with stainless steel. So what's the difference? None.

Well...they look and nice and according to abboushi, they sound nice. If they are that cheap, I'd at least take a chance on them...If you have the $ to spare, try them out and let us know.... There are only a handful of Megan GT and N1 users out there.

I'm probably going to get magnaflows put on my car this week. There's an exhaust shop that quoted me $200 for the mufflers, piping from the converter all the way back, and labor. Not too bad a deal really. I've heard a lot of good things about this shop too. Took my car there today to get an exhaust leak looked at, and they fixed it for me, no charge.

That's an excellent deal . I paid $200 with no mufflers but the bends for the X-pipe are what cost the most for me. I will weigh my options. I will either go with Magnaflow or Dynomax Ultra-Flo's.
