Screw in tow hooks for NX 300h, what size threads?
Any one have any idea what size of screw in tow hooks the NX 300h would take? We are looking to cart around kayaks and I want to be able to tie them down to the front.
Thanks,
Phil

Probably, but I don't want to mess up the threads on it, and I saw some on Ebay that would be a nice match, they are just for other Lexus models, not the NX.

Well to update this, I can get a spare one from Lexus for almost $50 (US), and since I just need it to strap down some kayak's, I don't really want to spend that kind of money. That is why I was looking for aftermarket one's, they are in the $12-15 range on ebay, but nothing for the NX and I don't know if the thread patterns on others match.
So, I am going to go with this, in case anyone else is looking to do something similar:
And in case anyone is wondering, you open up the hood of the vehicle you want to use it in, then put the black tube in there, and leave the strap hanging out through the hood, then hook whatever you want to tie down to the strap.
Here is the link to the one's I am getting on Amazon, they come in a pair for about $20.
Thanks,
Phil

I believe we all want a picture of the kayak strapped to the NX when you do it! Those would eliminate a cord from being in your line of site if you went with the hooks (I think).

Yes, that was my thinking as well, will keep the cords off to the side, less rubbing as well. And from what I read these straps are really strong and no issues with rubbing or paint rubbing off because of them. Time will tell on that.
I might have a picture later this week of 1 kayak on top, I have one on order from REI and when it comes in I will pick it up and use something. Not sure if I will have the straps by then, but will at least have a picture with a kayak on top!
