Twin Size Mattress - Will it Fit???
Hi there! Has anyone tried putting a twin size mattress in the back of their NX? I was hoping to pick on up at Costco this weekend and really don't want to have to ask a friend to help. The trip is short and I assume I'll have to keep the back end open a bit but just thought maybe someone here has already tried and can tell me if I'm being crazy or not
Thank you!!!!
Thank you!!!!

Hi welcome to the forum.
Twin mattress, sized 38" x 74"?
Width is not a problem BUT length is tight. With the rear seats folded, you'll have to drive (and passenger too) with seat moved up as close as possible to the dash with front seatbacks tilted upright. Not a safe drive home if airbags were to ever deploy. This is of course with the hatch closed. If you're fine keeping it open to let it stick out about 12 inches, you're fine then.

You could try to squeeze the mattress in your NX...or just rent a truck from Home Depot for $20.
Not sure if driving with the hatch open is good for the hatch, especially the struts.

I was able to fit a twin mattress in my 3RX but just barely. Width was no issue, but I had to move the front seats a bit further forward than I would normally have them, in order to close the hatch. So as other have said, I'd assume width will be okay but you'd have to leave the hatch open. Or just take the BART.
