Default Tire & wheel protection

Dealership is offering tire and protection of 5 years for $2000 Is this required and how is the wear and tear on NX F Sports AWD ? ( I am going to use the car only for commuting purpose and not racing.. and never claimed any insurance so far in the last 7 years..)
Do i still need this ? does this F sports AWD suspension wheel need lot more maintenance than my Honda car?

WTF, $2,00 for tire protection, I don't even know what that is. But do you really think that you can't get 4 brand new tires and rims for that matter for less than $2,000?

Seems like a total rip off to me.

+1, that seems way too high for tire / wheel protection.

+1. Too expensive.

Tires on the NX or NX F Sport are standard issue 225/60/18 All-seasons that range from 100-150$ each. In five years, you'll change them once.

Did you mean to write tire and "rim" protection? Of course, if you're careless and curb rash your wheels and it's a lease, they can be pricier in the 300-400$ each range to replace, but I would still skip this "insurance" and deal with any damage if and when it happens.

A final note, nothing to maintain on a Lexus NX F Sport suspension any more than your Honda.

save the $2000, that's 2-3 sets of new tires.

Did you purchase your car with cash or you are leasing it? Because dealerships will charge you for damages/rashes on the wheels and replace the tires during their safety inspection if the tires don't have sufficient threads when you return a lease; and they usually charge them at a premium.

Dealership is way overcharging for this. Your finance person is trying to make a really nice profit from selling you this plan. We just got a 2016 RX350 and got the Platinum Plus package for only $800. Have had issues in the past with losing tires to potholes, so this would help especially with how much 20" tires cost. For $2000, I wouldn't do this plan though...

Do you also get a gallon of lube with that deal?

Keep in mind, the 5 yrs is for damage, not replacement of your wear and tear.

Second, the NX is not for "racing" purposes, thanks for the laugh lol

There are no parts on the NX that are premature wear parts. That 2k is just something the dealership is going to take with a smile knowing that you'll never need it. If your wheel is damaged, you use your car insurance or buy another wheel and you'll still save money. For $2k, you could even buy a whole new set of wheels of your liking.
