Default 2006 IS350 stock air intake

I am stuck in a situation where my ex husband threw out my stock air intake. I currently have a K&N air intake installed however it won't pass smog because of CA's strict regulations. I don't have the money to pay a dealership $600 for a new one. Is there anyone out there that changed out their stock air intake? Is there anyone local to Sacramento that would let me trade them just for a couple hours so I can pass the smog test on my car so I can renew my registration? I understand this is a huge thing to ask, but I am stuck in a really bad situation. Thank you.

FYI when I changed my stock intake to my F sport, it took a few days for the car's system to adjust to the new intake..Someone correct me if I'm wrong but you might need more than a few hours if your intention is to get a smog check.

Oh and welcome to CL! Good luck with the situation.

you can go to the dealer and buy the F Sport carb approved sticker and put it on your intake...then you'e all good! Or you can go see GS300Tom at his smog shop in Sac!

Yeah an intake is just visual...there are more than enough smog shops that will run it.

I didn't know that. Yeah, the only thing my car failed was the visual inspection. Thank you for all of the information you guys. I really appreciate it.

Does anyone happen to have a spare air box lying around lol? Someone is going to give me their system however the air box is missing. I'm going to call Lexus when they open and see if they can sell the F sport decal. I'm also going to contact GS300Tom.

If they have a spare full airbox with intake pipe, they swapped for something other than F-sport. Such as Injen...

If they have a spare half intake box (lower) and intake pipe, they swapped for F-sport intake.

If they have just the intake pipe, they swapped for Joe-Z instake.

F-sport and Joe-Z are pretty common here, so you'll have a difficult time finding Stock intake pipe with Full Intake box.

once your car fails smog, it goes into the system that you failed and what you failed for.

i have an injen intake and i failed my smog, so the system knows i have an illegal intake in it. buying this sticker will only help if you havent failed yet.
