Lexus Personalized Settings (LPS)
I just purchased a CPO 2008 LS460L, and I'm trying to get some of the personal settings changed. I know that some can only be set at the dealership, and some can be changed by the owner.
The ONLINE Lexus owners manual (I don't have a printed copy) for the 2008 460 indicates that if you have the car in the ON postion (I assume two presses of the start button without holding down the brake), that there is a SETUP menu (on vehicles with NAV like mine) from which you can select "VEHICLE" (other options include GENERAL, CLOCK, NAVI, PHONE, AUDIO, and OTHER), then "VEHICLE CUSTOMIZATION", and then there are a number of different options you can select and update.
However, when I click SETUP on my system, I don't get a screen that looks anything like what the manual shows. I must be in the wrong place ... or I need to have the moon roof open while standing my left heel while singing Amazing Grace ... or somesuch.
I've got to be missing something simple. Can anyone assist?.

I believe on a 2008 LS 460, like mine, you MUST have the dealer change the settings. The good news is most dealers will adjust these setting while you wait; at no charge.
I recommend changing:
#4 to have doors lock a 13mph
#13 turn off lights immediately
#14 'very light'
