Just been toying around with Navigation, and coming from a 2006 Infiniti M, the lexus voice activated features are PAINFULLY slow. In the infiniti I could always just say "call home" or something similar, in the lexus we have to say 'dial by name' then say the name, and in between listen to Ms. Lexi tell us to wait for a beep etc.

I checked the navigation manual and didn't find any quick fix other than the set speed dials (which are pretty good) but you still have to go into a menu and press a button. Is there a way to program quick dials by voice?

in my playing with the voice nav commands, i have found that there are ways to quicken the process.

first, in the system setup pages, there is an option that is called "voice recognition guidance." set this to "off." then, instead of the initial, "please say a command" step, the system will just beep.

after that, i have found that one can press the voice button while the voice is speaking to halt the voice and obtain a beep. i find that this quickens the process greatly.
