Changing wheel size on LS460L
After seeing the reviews of the LS600h, I decided I could not justify the $30K difference and picked up an LS460L last week. I want to switch out the wheels but the dealer has told me that you cannot change the size of the OEM wheels, they have even gone so far to post a warning label inside the door jamb where the tire pressure label is stating that you must replace wheels with same size as originally ordered with, they even told me that larger wheels may void the warranty!!! Now I understand why you couldn't downsize from the 19" touring package to 18" wheels because the brakes are larger, but I do not understand why you couldn't put 20" wheels on a car that originally came with 19's. Can anyone shed some light on why this is such an issue (park assist, maybe?) Thanks. Also anyone whose changed the wheels, have you had any issues???

Strictly speaking you could put 20" wheels on, but you would have to lower the profile of the tire in order to keep the odometer/speedometer in sync. I have also heard that this can throw off the parking assist, but I don't know if that is a fact.
As far as voiding the warranty, I wouldn't worry about it. The chances are practically zero that the tire change would cause any damage requiring warranty repairs.

They cannot void your warranty except on part failures directly caused by new wheels.
My suggestion? Get your rims from D2-Autosport. He'll give you a damn good price, damn good service, and you have a *very* wide selection of wheels to pick from AND you can go custom as well.
Just keep in mind to keep the same rolling diameter as before so you don't have major issues with your speedo (but even then, we're talking miniscule percents).

I am planning on ordering some 22" Auto Coutures from D2 Autosport for my LS460L. I am going to do 245/30-22 and 295/25-22 which are 27.7 and 27.8 outer diameter. Factory OD is also 27.8. The only thing i am worried about is the park assist. Guess ill find out.

We can put OEM Lexus sensors in the wheels and ship them with the serial numbers, you just need to go to dealer ship to have them programmed. We can do this with wheels alone and with packages too!
Here's a link to our Lexus Gallery, there are a few LS460's there with 20 and 22" wheels.
