Default Just hit 80k on my 2005. Need some Advice on fixing a few issues.

As the title says I just hit 80k miles on my 2005. A few of the common ls430 issues are popping up and I need to get them fixed as they annoy me on a daily basis.

1. Driver mirror. The tilt up/down motors in the mirror are dead. It's not the switch as I tried cleaning. Passenger mirror functions on all settings. I am looking to replace whole mirror with a new unit. How hard is it to install? Do I need to pull door panel or anything too complicated?

2. Telescopic motor in steering column is on it's last legs. I did the tilt motor last year. Can't find a how to or details on the telescopic motor. Anyone done this? I don't want it disabled.

3. Chrome trim on top of windshield is dull and deteriorating from age/Sun. I saw the part online. Can this even be replaced without removing windshield?

Take a look at this post for instructions to get to the mirror motor assembly (up-and-down and side-to-side). https://www.clublexus.com/forums/ls4...with-pics.html

Take a look at this post for detailed instructions to replace the telescopic motor. Pay special attention to Post #34. https://www.clublexus.com/forums/ls4...-write-up.html

Thanks for the links. I knew I remembered a telescopic diy but it wasn't popping up in my forum search even though I was subscribed to it. I'll have to get my order in for a motor and bushing and knock it out.

The mirror disassembly thread is very detailed. I'm moreso leaning towards buying a whole new mirror as I'm sure at this age other motors and actuators in my current mirror will begin acting up so I'd like to start fresh. I am looking how to remove and install a new mirror assembly. I think the door panel needs to come off to access bolts and harness if I'm not mistaken.
