2001 ls430 driver mirror problem
Driver's side mirror is making noise (mirror motor winding noise) after starting car, 6-7 seconds. What could be the problem; is it in the mirror itself, in the mirror control unit inside the door or in the mirror switch on the dash (used to control mirror tilting? Any suggestions are appreciated.

yes, there is a small motor in the mirror. check if the threaded shaft is engaged with the mirror . Sometimes it can get disengaged and then the motor will keep spinning but won't pull the mirror back. You can push on the mirror and try to use mirror movement buttons at the same time.
