Default Passenger side mirror malfunctioning

My passenger side mirror is acting up. It moves in all directions but out/right. I like my mirrors all the way out so I can get better views of my blind spots so I normally would put the mirror all the way out till it starts to click.

This time however when I was readjusting the mirror it won't go out anymore. I can hear the motor working but the mirror is not moving out at all. Every other direction works but out. I don't really know what makes the mirror move or what it is attached to beside the motor. Is the guide or hook broken? Any one else experience anything similar?

There are only two possible things, the motor assembly or the switch (just behind the switch where you adjust the mirrors). There is a rather complicated way in the service manual about how to check the switch, but the motor assembly you'd have to get to behind the mirror to see.
