LS430 Custom Stereo Build
Hey guys,
I've been a Club Lexus member for awhile and know a couple of the local guys on CL. We're building a custom stereo/trunk into a 2004 LS430 and I figure I would share some of the build pix since it seems like not too many people build em.
A friend just got it about 2 weeks ago. Fully loaded with Navigation + Mark Levinson stereo. He likes his music loud, so the "grandpa" stereo had to go. His budget wasn't huge, so I had to cram alot of gear and labor into a "reasonable" budget.
Here's what's going in/been done so far:
20" Vossen's
Lowering Links
Audison SR1DK Mono Amp
Audison SR4 4-Channel Amp
Audison Voce AVK6 6.5" Component speakers (Front Speakers)
Focal 100A3 4" Mid Bass Woofer (Rear speakers)
Audiocontrol LC7i (Audio interfacing)
2x Hertz Audio HX300D High Energy Sub Woofers
Audison Connection Wiring
Silent Cote sound deadening in the soor
Plus a bunch of custom work
I apologize if the pics are too huge.
Some before shots:
Front tweeter pods. Tweeters didn't come out front the top like we had hoped, we took the glove box out to see if we could access the tweeters but no luck. So rather than invest more time (time budget, tight timeline) we opted to build the tweeter pods to accomodate the mounting depth.
Sorry I didn't get any pictures of the front doors, they buttoned up the doors before I had a chance to snap any pictures. But they were pretty straight forward. We were able to fit the Audison Voce components using the OEM bracket with a little modification. I was surprised given the size of the speaker.
Rear door speakers before the sound deadening treatment. Oddly enough the OEM speakers were a 4" component in the rear doors with the tweeters mounted down by the woofer. We had a pair of leftover woofers and just decided to upgrade the woofers and add a crossover free of charge.
Pic of trunk stripped down getting ready for us to wire up the trunk. The Levinson amp was tucked away in the passenger side rear quarter panel area.

Tapping into the OEM amp for signal, tied back together alongside the OEM wiring. Again the budget did not allow for us to re run all new wiring to the speakers, so we tapped in at the ML amp.
Start of the amp rack which will house the Amplifiers, Processor & Crossovers:
Start of the ported enclosure for the two Hertz High Energy HSK300D's. We're doing a port on the top of the box to vent through the OEM subwoofer grille. The OEM sub is obviously removed for this:
I'll upload more pix as they come. Hope you guys enjoy this and feel free to shoot me any questions if you have any. I'll try my best to help out a fellow Club Lexus member.
