Default Getting custom audio. Need your thoughts!!!

I have a non navigation and non-ML audio system on my 07 IS.

This is what I've planned to get:
1. Alpine INA -W900BT - 7 inch screen double din unit for navigation, bluetooth phone calls and bluetooth audio
2. Alpine MRP500 mono amp to power a sub
3. Alpine S-type 12 inch sub with custom enclosure in the side of the trunk
4. Alpine MRP F300 to power the midrange speakers
5. Retaining the factory amp to power the high range speakers
6. Retaining factory speakers

This is what the guy at the audio shop recommended and is very reputable.

I am a little hessitant about adding the 4 channel amp for the stock midrange speakers. I am afraid it will blow them out. I just want clean, deep bass, and clear and crisp sound.

Without upgrading the multi-channel amp, will the bass from the Alpine Subs overpower the factory speakers in the car?

With stock speakers, would a 4-channel amp upgrade be excessive??

it all depends on how many watts your speakers can take or how much the output on the amp is

Alpines website says the OP's amp pushes out:

-Per channel into 4 ohms: 50w x 4
-Per channel into 2 ohms:
75w x 4
-Bridged 4 ohms: 150W x 2

I have no idea what the stock speakers can take though.

is that max or RMS?

you're always better with overpowering speakers than underpowering them... the amp can always be turned down, and underpowering speakers is the best way to ruin em.

Anyway, I think all the factory speakers are all in the 20-25W range @4ohm so a 50W per channel amp is gonna be fine.

My biggest concern will be how good/bad the head unit will look- which will depend a lot on the fabrication skills of your installer since all head unit installs (except the fly audio unit) will be custom.

I'm not sure. Alpine's website didn't say or I may have missed it.

There is no reason to add a 4 channel for factory speakers. The head unit will power them adequately. If you are willing to replace the factory speakers then you definitely want a 4 channel.

All of these wattage ratings are max.

I own the type s 10" for my 4runner with type r door speakers that are like 4 years old. Running a V12 alpine amp the whole system sounds great! But for my is looking to install a type r sub. The type s is nice but I like more bass and type r is hits deeper and cleaner no doubt.

Where are you installing your radio? You have to keep the A/C controls.

I had a Type R 1223D, it blew in 3wks with my PDX-m6 powering it... So i dropped in a Polkaudio MM1240 only because the type r wasnt in stock and woulda taken a couple of hours to be delivered, wow it sounded soooo much better than the type r, im so glad i didn't wait for it.

the Type S is very weak. I have a Type X 12 in mine right now. Had a Type R prior to that. If you're going for SPL pick up a Type R. If you prefer SQ go for a Type X. The Type R definitely had bang but doesn't hit all the notes and its not as clear as the Type X.

My Type X. Best bang for your buck. This thing is on the level of a JL W7 theres debates bout it all over the internet. My friend had a W7 in his G35 and after hearing mine he sold his W7 and picked up a Type X
