I just lost the amp in my 2004 Ls430... I sent it out to NY to have it repaired, and its all good now... BUT now the rear sub is not right, I did the glue fix for now...

As I sit here Im thinking of just pulling it all and going aftermarket... I can sell the amp to recoup the 475 spent.

Amy recommendations for a shop? Can the shop reuse the speaker wiring or is this a total gut job?

Thanks , I called guy knows his stuff....

He did say that I can replace the ML speakers one at a time if needed with an aftermarket......I confused. Some of the other threads in the LS section say that it either all ML and that an aftermarket speaker will not work, it would agree the amp!

Damn time. For a new car ...

Yeah, the guy that runs the place now is the father of the guy who opened it. He's won many stereo system install competitions. The son now owns a high end speaker distribution business, so he doesn't do the installs anymore, but it's definitely a good place to check out if you need work done.

So, can the guy help you, or are you getting rid of the car because of the stereo system?

He told me to pull the speaker and he could find a replacement .

Ha I was just frustrated the car has me spoiled ...has NEVER let me down....only issue was a starter at 55k. I'm now at 130k and its runs like it did new!

I'm not a stereo audiophile guy. So this issue has me in a new place .

My big issue is trying to future proof the car. My fix on the sub is temporary at best , but I'm. Not dropping 400 on a substandard sub. That 400 gets me a nice head unit ..
