Unusual problem
I recently put some ASA rims with Blizzak tires on my 2004 LS430. Several days after putting them on I heard strange sounds from the front driver side wheel. Went to my local Lexus dealer and they found only two lug nuts on the front driver side wheel. The other 3 lug nuts were gone and one of the lug nut studs was broken off. How could this have happened? I put the rims on myself and tightened them with a torque wrench.
Also how hard is it to replace the lug nut studs? Is this something I can do myself? Thanks!

very strange. Just wondering if the dealer did a service requiring them to remove the wheels.
If you torqued the wheels on properly, the 3 missing lug nuts and the broken stud must have been done at the dealership ... these are not things that fall off and break easily at all. Must be a sloppy Lexus dealership to return your car to you in an unsafe condition. I would speak to the manager.
Unless you have special tools, I don't think you'll be able to repair the lug stud yourself. Pretty sure it needs to be drilled and extracted - something I would not personally try to do.

Did you use the correct lug nuts for those rims? I believe there are a few different seat/mating surface designs for the nuts: round, flat and conical. If you used the wrong ones then even if you torqued them I can see them loosening fairly easily. I am not sure what the stock lug nuts are but I know the lugs for my aftermarket wheels are different than the stock ones.

the nuts become little lose, over 500 mile period- you are suppose to revisit and double check if everything is secure. My wifes friend RX350 had her wheel almost come off after 4 months of a brake job.
