I've scoured the forums here but can't really find an answer.
My wife has a 2004 LS430 which she loves. But her nav/radio has no phone capability so I got her a Parrot but her Note II is not a fan and I would really like to upgrade her to a newer radio that she can answer her phone through, preferably a newer lexus nav radio but is that even possible? She's not very technical so I don't want to throw her for a loop and she loves her nav so loosing that is not an option.

I guess I'm misunderstanding - I have an '04 and it has bluetooth for the phone. Is that what you're saying you don't have?

I've never seen someone try it but maybe you could swap out the navigation with another 04-06 LS that has factory bluetooth? Another option would be to go with an aftermarket radio with bluetooth built in since you could keep your factory navigation.

My 05 has bluetooth as well and I can answer the phone through the stereo. It works with both my Galaxy Note II and iPhone.

I was wondering if the reason ours was never included those features is because we do not have the unit that is xm compatible. That was another 700 bucks.
It looks like Lexus did an upgrade mid through 2004 which included adding bluetooth so hopefully I can simply dump in a nav radio from a late 2004 or 05-06

Watch what you wish for the bluetooth comes thru the front driver speaker and usually you have to ask people to talk up, really listen hard or kinda hack thru listening to a phone call. Does anyone have a fix for the crappy speaker and placement?

I'm hard of hearing (crappy hearing aids required), but I can hear a phone call. Have you increased the volume for phone calls?
