Help - Heated Seats
Please help me out!!
I have a Lexus LS400 (1997). When I push either of the front heated seat buttons, they buzz, and the seats don't heat. If someone knows what the problem is, please tell me. The dealer said it was the switch that was faulty, I bought new switches, had them installed, yet the buzz still happend. They cost me $139. Why do BOTH the switches buzz whenever they are pushed??!!! This doesn't make any sense!! Please help me out. Thank you.

I also have a 97 and my seats also don't heat, although the switches light up (they don't buzz).
The buzzing sound may be pretty dangerous. Since this is electric system, there are only two things that could buzz, a relay trying to engage or an electric short. In either case, you should not turn them on any more until the problem is fixed.
I've posted the same question here about 6 month ago and haven't received a good answer.
Some even told me that the warmers are located in the lumbar area
Let me know if you find an answer.
Good luck.

I'll add to the problems, but not to the solution I am afraid. I have a '95 LS400 and the heated seats do not work. (at least the drivers side) I was told that I needed a new "heat pad" for the seat and then you go to an upholsterer and have it installed. The new seat cushions come with the heating unit adheared I think so I have to get the whole thing. I haven't replaced it yet, because it will be about $500.00. :-( The buttons are fine as tested... and quiet I might add.
