That New Car Smell On A 95 LS400!?
Hi Lexus folk,
Just picked up a beautiful Lexus LS400 95' model a few days ago. Full service history and a low 160,000kms. Incredible masterpiece of a car! My question is, it still has a new car smell. Yes it is well kept but it is a 20 year old car so is it normal for it to have this fantastic new car type smell? I'm just a little confused because I am not sure if it is supposed to smell like this or not. I'd love it to keep it that way for as long as I can so I would like to know what you think. Obviously it's hard t define it exactly but it just smells, well, new!
Thanks in advance for your help.

Yeah I was thinking it could be something like this. What are some types of leather conditioner that would create this nice smell though. Again, I know it's hard to define the smell but I recently bought "Armor All Leather Care". Haven't used it yet but could it be something like this that was used?

One more thing, I'm not sure if you purchased from a dealer or private party BUT there are also many air fragrances that attempt to give off the "new car" smell. This is generally just soaked into the carpets and is noticeable much longer.

Thanks for these replies. I bought it from a dealer. I am not familiar with this type of spray but I have heard of it before. I am still waiting for a response back from the dealer. Whatever it is, I want to know, and continue using it myself as it's great. Everyone who has sat in my car said it smells great also.
