Red face automatic transmission slipping

Hi! The automation transmission of my 1991 LS400 is slipping. The fluid level is good. It started about a few weeks ago and is now getting bad. Wonder if anyone have the same experience.

How many miles on the tranny and how many of those miles have you owned the car?

Have you tried adjusting the trans cable by the throttle?

This seems to have helped me on my 91.

when was the last time the fluid was changed? around here we do NOT recommend a flush but a simple drain and fill between 3-4 oil changes. a drain and fill necessitates 2 quarts of ATF. only use OEM toyota type-IV ATF!

also make sure you check the level using the 'hot' side of the dipstick, on a level surface of course. hot means you drove the car around for a least 20-30 mins.
