95 LS400 Performance question
Hi all,
I have a '95 LS400 with 160,000km (100,000 miles) on it, which I'm very happy with - for an 11 year old car, it's amazingly smooth, quiet and solid feeling.
However, I keep on wondering whether the engine performance of my car is normal for this model, or if something is wrong: I've always felt that it doesn't really feel like a 4.0L V8 to drive. In full-throttle acceleration from a standing start, it doesn't really feel any different from my old 2.2L 4 cylinder Honda Prelude. In fact, I've driven a 2.4L Camry and a 1.3L Echo (Yaris) that felt far more responsive off the line! There's a steep hill near my house, and the car feels like it's really struggling to climb it.
How would other LS400 owners characterise their car's performance? Do you get an aggressive kick accelerating from 0, or does your car feel more stately like mine? Does it power up hills, or need a bit of help?

add some seafoam and change the oil to a good synthetic like Motul 8100 e-xcess 0-40 which is what i use and love since i just changed my oil again today and got a massive increase in power again.
