More like the holes were dimpled from tightening on a RUBBER GASKET!

the pan bolt holes were pulled up due to the gasket. i would NOT torque to 65 if it's not leaking now. you will cause the same problem again as you used a premade gasket. the true best way to do this is to apply FIPG but glad you fixed it using the method you wanted to.

Well to be honest the holes were dimpled because of ME waayyyy over tightening the bolts. I literally went caveman on the bolts but the torque wrench was a life saver.

I agree, 65 inch is too much torque for a rubber gasket, that's why I started at 45 inch. So far no leaks, the pan was dry as a bone. The pic I posted that showed the leak, that part of pan looked like it was slightly bent. I think someone prolly bent it trying to pry it from the transmission due to the sealant.

Sure sealant might last longer but the Fel pro gasket is sooo easy to work with and make easy removal. Fel Pro is the way to go! If u don't wanna use sealant.

Edited 2/20/15 11:59. Park the car in garage last night, I checked the ground this morning and NO drops of atf.
