Help needed with dead car ASAP.....
I have a 94 with 97K miles and I have a problem, it will not start.
A few days ago I went to start it and it was completely dead (not even power to turn the radio on). I had the battery checked and it was told it was bad. I now have the new battery in place but it will still not start.
Hints I have so far
1. Plenty of power for the access. lights bright ect.
2. When I connected the old battery the alarm was going off?????
3. My Master key either has a bad battery or has went bad (remote unlock will not work)
So my hunch is the alarm is disabling the start function....is this possible? How do I over ride it?

Before playing with alarm, make sure that your shifter is in Park.
Shift out of Park and then back in. I know, it's stupid, but if shifter is not in Park or Neutral, the car wont start.
If this doesn't help, open the driver door and unlock with your key while the door is open. Try this several times (lock, unlock with master key) while the door is open. Try to start the car between the tries.
I once had a similar situation and factory alarm locked up, althogh I never use it. Playing with the door lock helped me.
Good Luck.

One idea.......
Have you tried a different key? The valet key, for example, doesn't need the transponder, but the master key does. If you only have master key, you can get a non-remote key cut with just the VIN at a dealer ( I got mine from Sewell Lexus in the vendor's forum ). It may take a dealer to reset the starter disable. I think it automatically is enabled when the battery is removed for an extended period. You may want to post in the maintenance forum to get visibility from the Lexus techs.
Good Luck

Thanks all
Problem solved!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I locked and unlocked the driver’s door about 5 times and she turned right over.
This board is invaluable how much would the dealer have nailed me for the fix not to mention the tow?
Knowledge is power
