mechanical failure light X 3- HELP!!!!!!!
mechanical light has come on three times in the last 4 days here is the info
1. mechanic said code was "gross evap leak" found vacuum line off purge valve, reattached
2. second time, mechanic said same as #1 but this time they used a zip tie to keep it on (sounds a little funny) but there was also a second code
"cat effiency below threshold bank #2" mechanic said a fuel system cleaning will do the trick for this and so he did it at no charge
3. light came on again tonight while driving.....time for dealership????
Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

check again, reset ECU, drive.
you may have an O2 sensor going bad or the ECU is just kind of jumbled since the vacuum mishap was throwing it off.
took it to dealership, they said cat converter needs replacement $2800 bones!!!!! should I assume they checked the O2 sensor?
Anyone have a good mechanic in the central/south Jersey (Trenton) area that can get me a good deal?
Dealership got same code as first mechanic who hooked it up to computer, should I pay to have someone else verify it for a third time?
thanks!!
