Is already a serious luxury car. What do you have in mind? Mods for the first gen are difficult to find, but they can be found. You will probably import stuff in from overseas.

You didn't state the mileage, but for safety the lower ball joints , tie rod ends, leaking power steering pump seal, leaking power steering idle bypass valve, leaking heater control valve, would be top on my list. You have a noninterference engine but it would be nice to know when the T belt was changed. If it needs it I would also do the idlers 1&2 also the water pump and tensioner. That then leaves just the fan support bearing assy, and that can be checked when the belt is changed. Your fluids should all be changed, the antifreeze, fill with Toyota only, using the drain plug under the transmission open this and 2 quarts of fluid will come out then replace with 2 qts of T-IV Toyota only, do this when you do the next 3 or 4 oil changes. Pull the right rear tire and run brake fluid though the system have a buddy do the pumping while you control the bleeder, one large brake fluid container though the system should suffice. Then pull the return hose (the larger hose) off the power steering pump (this gets a little messy) have a container or just let it go under the car to a drain pan and while you add fluid have you buddy turn the car on and off to flush the old fluid out of the power steering system. Also be aware that you hoses are probably breaking down and black debris will be in the filter screen in the pump, and the filter screen in the pressure modulator on the rack. To do it right at least the high pressure hose should be changed to keep debris at a minimum, you can clean the screen in the rack do a search it is on this site, the screen in the pump is tougher. That should keep you busy for awhile.
-check the suspension for play due to deteriorated rubber control arm bushings
-check engine+transmission mounts
-do a search for fixing the tilt function if its broken on your steering wheel.
also, a muffler delete helps out the exhaust sound and alone costs nothing, and if u want tips made for it (ie deleting last 2 resonators and having pipe+trips welded on) shouldnt be more than $100.
