Brake Pad Warning Light
The brake pad wear limt warning light came on , and I checked the pads . I changed the back pads, the front pads were still good I had changed them about 2 months ago. After doing the job the light is still ON. This is the frist time I have had this happen. I pull the wheels back off and checked ,everything looks to be right. How do they work and what can I do to correct the problem?

Well yea, they do kind rip you off for that. I always thought the sensor was somewhere closer to the running gear, but if it's that easy I might just replace mine myself also. I still can't believe that Lexus requires you to replace a sensor when your brakes go bad!

Changing the sensor is as easy as changing a light bulb. The difference is instead of climbing up a ladder, you have to get down under the car to do it. There is no need to take the wheel off, but it helps. Make sure your car is on jack stands, with the factory jack as back-up. DO NOT get under the car using the factory jack alone!!!!! Either for changing this sensor, or for any other reason.

I went and checked them this morning with a ohm meter and the back one was bad. I found some on the net for 57.60 plus shipping. I went by the lexus place and they had some for $60 plus tax, so I got it and came home and put it on. Now my light is gone. I want to thank everyone for your help. HAVE A MERRY CHRISTMAS AND A HAPPY NEW YEAR.
