Default Warranty sugggestions

I just bought a 2012 LS 460 sport. It was 37,000 miles and although I'm pleased with the mileage, the air suspension terrifies me. Is there a warranty available to cover my car to make me feel better about potential or inevitable failure of the air suspension?

any ideas welcome

Most dealerships offers warranties and I suggest the platinum plan that covers almost everything. Toyota/Lexus have plans available. Be cautious with internet warranties.

Check your local Lexus and Toyota dealer to see what they offer. Also make sure you check your local Credit Unions as they can sometimes have unbeatable pricing on their warranties.

Make sure you read anything you look at very thoroughly to see what EXACTLY it covers. Lots of warranties will tell you it covers everything but when you read the fine print, it will list things not covered.

With the age and mileage of your car, I think you are qualified to buy Lexus extended warranty. I bought 5 years 80000 miles Lexus platinum warranty for $4000 when I bought my 06’ LS430 with 70000 miles in 2011 at lexus dealership in MN. Over 5 years, I think my warranty repair total bills(2 parking sensors, struts, rotary, mirror…) is close to what I paid for the warranty. This summer, I bought my 11’ LS460 and it comes with extended warranty.

3 months after I bought 11’ LS460, 2 rear struts are seeping. That is over $1000+ parts plus labor job if I don’t have warranty. With your Air suspensions, I recommend you to buy lexus warranty as they are expensive to replace. Some people can buy used air suspension for very cheap price, but I find air suspension only work well in great condition, lots of time, those used one will stay in mediocre status for a while before it fail to specs. Those air suspension will ride worse than coil suspension.

I like Lexus Platinum warranty. It almost cover everything except cosmetic things, brake and tire. Lucky you guys Lexus offer platinum warranty in US. In Canada, we can only buy Lexus gold extended warranty and lots of things are not covered like audio system.

100% true,

In fact, it's better to look at what ISNT covered. That is usually a bigger eye-opener. It's what will allow the company to get out of covering you,.

Thank you guys. After owning almost every Lexus model, I have participated in almost every subforum on here except for the LS. Let's just say, every single reply on here has been thoughtful and helpful. I didn't know this where all the wisdom was hanging out.

I remember there being a gentleman ages ago that would offer competitive warranties from a Lexus dealership despite being in another state. I know that's vague, but does anyone remember who he is or this offer obsolete?

Yes. Look at what not covered section first. You will find Lexus platinum warranty is better than the 3rd party one
