You can't assume TGMO as the dealership choice in oil. I actually would say that is their last choice in oil. You get seething different unless you ask, or pay, for TGMO.

I have seen this at toyota and Lexus stores.

I'm doing the factory recommended 10k OCI with 0W20 synthetic.

Correct about the oil, my invoice from the Lexus dealer (picked it up from the first oil change today) says clearly Mobil oil was used, not TGMO.

So I got my Blackstone Labs report back yesterday. I'll post the report when I can. Everything looked great after 10k miles on this OCI. They advised to go 12k miles on the next change. Not sure if I will or not, but I'm pleased that after 100k miles my engine looks great and wearing nicely.

Are you changing out your oil filter at all during this interval?

I left it in for the entire 10k miles. It looked fine when I replaced it.

After traveling 400 miles I pulled the dipstick to check the oil and the acceleration became erratic. It didn't go away until fuel injector cleaner went in (in this case Royal Purple was used).

Also, I have approx 3,300 miles on the oil in the engine.

Has anyone ,other than me,read the owners manual about the amount of oil (ow-20) used in the change interval of 6mo or 5000 miles ?. The manual on pages 558-560 says that 1.1 qt of oil burned every 600 miles wasn't abnormal.. This means you will be using an additional 8 qts of oil every oil change. This on top of the 9 qts to begin with makes for an expensive oil change. I tried to go 7000 thousand on my change interval and wound up putting 5 qts before the next oil change. My 460 has 116,000 miles on the od . Any on else have this situation ?

It says nothing about burning oil in my 2013 manual.

I have never experienced this problem but can only surmise that that you either have a leak which would be visible under the vehicle or that your piston rings are worn and are allowing oil into the combustion chamber causing the oil to be burned. You could also have leaking valve seals or a plugged pcv valve among other things. Are you familiar with the complete service history of the vehicle and have you observed any blue smoke being emitted from the exhaust upon acceleration?

Most manufacturers state that adding a qt of oil every 1000 miles is normal. BMW and Audi as well as others state that 700 miles is normal. I suspect that this is due to DI engines, and the use of low viscosity oils like the 0W20 (Lexus) and 0W40 (BMW) recommend, but who knows. Consumer Reports several months ago did a study and report on this phenomenon (adding oil between changes), and found many manufacturers consume oil. Audi, BMW and Subaru being the worst offenders. At the end of the day, if you don't see blue smoke out your tailpipe, there's not much to be concerned about, IMHO. I'm adding a qt every 3-4k miles and I have well over 100k miles on my LS.

@68500 miles/Redline 0w30 oil and filter change, Royal purple Maxclean and a full tank of gas. The acceleration is linear and smooth without any indication of hesitation.
