Default Ext Warranty ? for those who bought one

I need to decide on a warranty purchase in the next several months on my LS and GS.

It appears that the best price for extended warranty is from several "Toyota" dealerships.

For those of you who have bought from these Toyota guys and have received your warranty - pls advise the following:

Did you receive a genuine "Lexus Extended Warranty" contract? (ie: does it say Lexus or Toyota).

How do they go about the process? What do you provide them in the way of final information, how is it paid for, and what do they provide as a receipt? Do they take credit cards?

How long did it take to receive your contract? Is there a way to verify that it is genuine and on record with Lexus?

Any issues or problems we should know about?

Thanks all.

i bought the lexus plat ext warranty from a toyo dealer over the phone with a CC, about three weeks later received a small booklet/receipt from lexus financial stating I purchased the lexus platinum extended warranty. haven't verified with the dealer it is in the system, but I'm assuming it is. All I sent the toyo dealer was name, address and VIN.

I bought my ls in dec 2008 at glendale Lexus in California. I paid about $2500 to extend the warranty to 6 yr. The best part is that I got free maintainence for the first two years and if I don't use the warranty, they'll refund me th $2500 when the warranty expires. And yes it said Lexus platinum warranty.

tclk, are you sure about that? If that's true, the only way they could make money is if you used the warranty and the cost of the repair(s) plus the cost of the maintenance was less than $2500. At that they only make the difference between the two.

Then you must not be looking at the platinum warranty, perhaps the other one? I'm pretty sure the platinum does cover the stereo and nav system.

yup troy is the man. I extended the warranty on my GS with him and have already contact him to get info on extending the warranty on my LS460. They are very nice and well priced. They even have the package that goes to 125K. DO IT!!

I was a little apprehensive at first but when the paperwork arrived its all official Lexus warranty info. You do not have to get ripped off at the local dealer to extend your warranty. I was quoted around $3600 for an 8 yr 125K mile warranty. With cars like this you need all of the coverage you can get. The car is reliable but still pricey to repair.

Tex, Lexus is owned by Toyota, so its the same company. Here is a link where you can get all the info on benefits, what is covered and MSRP pricing. Buying the extended warranty is just like buying the car, the price is subject to negotiation.

Default Lexus Platinum Ext Warranty

I just purchased my Platinum Extended Warranty 7yr/75000 miles from Troy for $1370 on my 2007 GS350 just before existing warranty expired. Local dealer quoted me for same plan at $1850. It was great dealing with Troy.
I paid by credit card and got my paperwork in a week directly from Lexus Financial. Everything on the paperwork and warranty says Lexus on it. As far as I know, it continues the coverage of your expiring warranty. Contact info for Troy is in previous postings.
