Upgrade to 2013 LS 460 AWD?
Hello,
Right now I'm driving a 2011 Acura RL and I own a 2014 IS 250 AWD Fsprt. In toronto LSs are very rare, especially 2013 plus. Saw one driving other day for the first time in a while, it was beautiful. I've found a 2013 LS 460 AWD w/ Tech Pkg for $45k with 95000kms or 60000miles. I am very interested as the car retailed for 97k brand new in Canada 4 yrs ago. Its under half what it is new. I can see that the car is same gen as 2007, but substantially revised. I test drove the car already, its like a Japanese Rolls Royce, no road or wind noise, suspension is like ice, and the most smooth power delivery imaginable. This also has the shimamoku wood trim, very beautiful and the power rear seats, power rear door shades, rear centre console, cool box, pre collision and blindspot. It's loaded. I do have a few questions before I make an offer to buy it.
How's reliability, any major problems worth noting, any common expensive issues? Any high mileage owners on CL, how does the car drive after 100k+miles, and any big ticket maintence items that only Lexus can do? Also, how do you like your car in general, do you like your yacht on wheels, and if so, why? Any recalls to know of, and also common parts of LS interior or exterior prone to wear to check out before purchase, and did you think its worth getting car rust proof?
Thanks
T.K.

They're great cars, one of the best things about them is how they take mileage, they feel solid and new well past 100k miles.

Sounds like you've already made up your mind............ Go for it! (I take it the $45k is CAN?) Not sure what the "Tech package" is - it wasn't sold as such in the US. But if the car has Nav and Mark Levinson, it's got everything you would ever need.
Oh, unless the car has been in an accident, pass on the aftermarket rustproofing. If it has been in an accident then that area should be rustproofed to factory spec but not the rest of the car.

My 08 (which coincidentally spent it's first 6 mos in Ontario), has been THE best car I've ever owned. I now have 180k kms on it. The only non routine service I've done on it, is:
1. water pump - 50 dollars for the pump and installed myself in 90 minutes or so
2. Mufflers -I think I'n the only one who's replaced theirs here at CL. I paid a local shop 400 bucks for both inc labor
3. One ball joint and one control arm - I actually replaced ALL my control arms as a preventative measure and shocks as well. Total cost was 1350 dollars (8 control arms and four shocks) inc labor and parts
That's it. You will be VERY happy with this ride, Mine is still ooooohhhhh so silky smooth after 9 years and 110k miles. I don't think there's really anything you would require Lexus to do on this car exclusively. This car is DIY friendly. Parts-wise, it shares many of the same parts found in Toyota Tundra, etc. Rock Auto (.com) carries tons of different parts for our cars.

Thanks alot. Just bought it, its a CPO, been on the lot since early Dec, I got it for 43.25k. They originally wanted 52.8k, reduced it 3 times to 45k. I think I got a fair price, thousands lower than any other listed in ontario.
