'07 460L: A/C question
So, my a/c works, meaning that it blows, touch screen works and fan speed is operable, however the a/c doesn't seem to get quote as cold as it used to.
The driver side vents produce the coolest air, but the air coming out of vents on the passenger side is faintly cool. More like warm-cool.
The vents that are situated in the back side of the center console blow cool air, but not at the rate of the air flow that comes out of the front vents.
Lastly, there is barely any air flow that comes out of the pillar vents that aim towards the rear of the car.
I'm thinking I need an a/c recharge and that would address the air temp, but what about the rate of air flow in different vent locations...
Anyone notice any of these symptoms on their LS?
All advice/feedback is greatly appreciated, thanks everyone.

No similar symptoms here. Did you take anything apart that may have effected the plumbing in the dash? Perhaps a blend door may be inoperative or jamming.Did you replace the pollen filter in the glove box? Seems like a visit to an AC shop for a recharge would be step 1. Though I usually do my own with a recharge kit.

I have not replaced the filter in the glove box since I've owned it, perhaps I should start there.
I was thinking a recharge wouldn't be too hard and was thinking about attacking it myself.
Is it difficult? Im thinking easier than a water pump...

Excellent point about the 'Dual' temperature setting; I hope that's it.
Air flow is not consistent across locations; this is normal, especially on the B-pillar vents which do blow less. You have different duct sizes and lengths, and in the end, the vents are supposed to work together to achieve a temperature target, not to blow at the same flow rate (as you'd want them to, say, across rooms in a house).

Interesting. I've seen TV commercials for that product. Really didn't think too much of it, but I guess that stuff works! I wonder how much a comparable dealer visit and recharge would have cost if they troubleshooted the same issue? Expensive I'm sure.
Also, you think the system is leaking? AC is a closed-loop system, so I wonder if there is a small leak somewhere. In any case, it's nice to know that there is a fast and easy remedy.

I used to have to throw a can of r134 in my 91 every couple years. Never found the small leak. Last year it was leaking way worse so instead of finding and fixing it I used it as an excuse to buy a 07. I'm SO happy that my A/C finally went out after 24 years because I needed that incentive to upgrade my smiles going down the road.

Kennyr44, What was the purpose of the upgraded front windows? The water pump, thermostat and belt, plugs and trans flush was done for routine maintenance and did you do it yourself? Just curious.

The 07's had wind noise and Lexus replaced the front windows with thicker glass if you complained. Yes I did the other repairs myself.
