Ok guys I guess this ain't my kind of ride. It's as new and is a beauty but can't haul dirt or pull a trailer so I'm going to move it . My question is can I get 20gs for it ? This is a little old lady car stored in the winter as they had a nice place on Fl like I said everything is perfect with the exception of a few little back up bumps on the rear bumper that can easily be touched up. Let me know what you think,Clark. Oh it just turned 26000 miles.

$20,000 I doubt it but you might. you could probably sell it fast for $15,000. people want suv and trucks. the market for over 10 year old sedans is not very good. in my market KBB lists a fair price at a little below $15,000 for a private party sale. good luck.

As I've posted in the past, I paid 19,000 and change for my 2005 a year ago, so to the right person, you could probably get close to 20k, but as Jffgry stated, the market is narrow on people who would pay that for an LS430. Carmax would love a car like that, but they'll probably offer 10-12k. Another option to consider: You could buy a cheap truck for your hauling needs, and keep the LS for your DD.

imho retail these cars are barely over 15k now....there seems to be a nice one in Dallas, at a dealer, 52k, $16,488 asking. They likely took the car in at $12k tops. There is some point at which low miles becomes a disadvantage, as these are not Porsches or Ferraris....a private sale cannot fetch dealer retail unless the buyer is very unsuspecting I guess....if it were me, I'd take $16k easily, but be willing to go down to $14k...or just drive it as an extra car, if I recall it was free. How nice is it to have free transportation for 10 years? What a lasting gift if you ask me...that's paying it forward for sure.

edit: went back and the car wasn't free--so assuming the amount paid wasn't "nothing," for me that means over $5k, then I would consider what I put into it, on whether I would be willing to sell for less than the web says it's worth, that's me. But it's taking up garage/driveway space, taxes/insurance etc., I would either get rid of it, or use it up....for me likely the latter...

I agree, low mileage or not when you start talking $15k+ then buyers will start considering the LS460. At least that's what I was doing when I bought mine last month. Carmax had some with under 50k miles but they were asking $16k - $17k and that was a no go for me. At that price point I would have picked up an '07 - '09 LS460. $14k would have probably been my max price and it would've had to been in perfect shape and the right color combo...which fortunate for you your car probably is both of those. That's just me.

Our great cars are getting on in years. Although they are well built cars that have be known to be reliable, time has a way of diminishing values unless we are talking about classics. Even low mileage LS430s have now begun to depreciate to realistic numbers. Paying mid or upper teens for any LS430 is no longer cost effective as money will still be needed to bring the car up to it's full potential running condition. At this point there are many options for other newer cars. Unless we can find a very reasonably priced LS430 with good service records, I don't see the point on spending a considerable amount of money on an 11-16 year old car. Unless the price is right...old is old regardless of reputation and even known reliability. Just my 2 cents.

Like others have said, you should probably be asking in the $15k area.

For most people, it is not meaningful that our cars "cost $65,300 new," or is a flagship, or what have you. What matters is that they average 26-28 mpg in combined driving (many modern cars do that, Sonata, Camry, Accord, etc.). To be able to drive a V8 than avgs 19.x (in my commute, ymmv), on premium, is a fortunate situation. I would think that that's not doable in Canada based on the fuel prices...let's be honest here, we're fortunate to be able to obtain a very well built machine, and operate it, because our ongoing costs are much higher overall than a 2014 Camry CPO, which for many, is the wiser purchase...my .02 as it is what it is....
