Default Should I buy 2006 LS 430 with 100k miles?

I was wondering if it's wise to purchase a 2006 Lexus LS 430 with 100k miles for around $14,000 USD?

First of all, an LS with 100K on the odometer is barely broke in. Don't get scared by the mileage. Unless the car was just plain abused! These cars are over engineered, and although there are a few items that have occasional problems, overall, the car will last longer than you want to keep it around. That being said, asking that kind of money for the car is a little high for the mileage and what options it may have come with. Is it an Ultra Luxury, or Custom Luxury model, or just a base model? If it's a base model, it's priced higher than it should be, but you could spend $10-11,000 for the same car and then have to drop $1300 - $1500 or so on the timing belt/water pump which is due to be done at 90-100K. IF that work has been done, and the car has great service history, it's worth a glance to see if they'll come down a bit.

Oh, and welcome to the club. You may want to post this in the LS430 (3rd Gen) section as it might get more views.

Without any additional info, the price is still way to high. Once the mileage tops 100K prices should be 10K or lower. If not able to find them, keep shopping and be patient . They made a ton of these cars and most are still on the road.

Depends on the model (Base, Premium, etc). Also depends # of owners, dealer service history, TB, current condition, etc
Out here, for an 04-06, anything under 10k buys a higher mileage car that may need service or repairs.

If it's a Base, that's too high. In CA, maybe 12-13 for an ML or CL in perfect condition. Needs absolutely nothing, one owner full dealer service. You might find one w/ lower mileage but have to watch the market, be willing to travel, etc.

I agree that traveling to find the right car can be very productive. Most won't do it for a car in this price range. I feel that any LS430 regardless of Base, ML, CL, or UL is valued according to the overall condition and service records. I'd pay top dollar for any base model 2006 LS430 if it were a fine example. The UL should be priced lower and if not yet will be in the future because of expenses involved with an aged sophisticated model. We are not talking about a classic/collectable car.

I would buy it but not for 14 thousand. Should be right around 10.

Agree top dollar for a base. The bells and whistles were a great add to these cars when new. Now? Just potentially expensive repairs unless DIY. Like my ML but if I buy another LS, it will be a one owner low mileage 2006 base.
