Shifter Indicator Lights on Console
On my newly acquired 2005 LS430, the transmission Indicator lights do not illuminate.
Is this repairable, wonder if they are bulbs or LED's?
Dealer wants $165 to repair them
Does anyone know how to get at the bulbs/LED's
I was going to pry up the console but thought it better to ask about removal here first.
Thank You in advance for any help

I really can't believe how much a dealer wants to suck out of customers!
Anyways, here is your $4 fix, are you ready?
Changing that bulb will take you 15 min. Since its your first time doing it. You'll be able to do it in 2 once you know your way.
Here is the link you need for the new LED, instead of the burnt up bulb.

Pry the silver chrome linings from around the indicators, remove the TRAC and seat VAC slot by just prying it from the sides. After that you'll be able to lift the whole console up and gain access to the gear. You'll find 4 plastic clips on each corner of the gear indicator plastic piece. Smoothly pry 4 corners and lift.
You'll find the bulb attached to the same plastic piece, just turn it to slip it out of the housing. Put new LED in, check to see if it's working, if not, just flip the way you installed it (positive and negative).
Reverse everything and you should be done. Really is a 2 min. Job.
Good luck to you.

Many Thanks
Thanks for the great instructions, I just ordered the LED replacement bulb and when it comes later this week I'll make the repair.
Imagine $165 for that.
Thanks again

Big thanks to all who submitted pictures, diagrams, instructions and support.
You guys made it super easy to replace the bulb with an LED, even the blue bulb cover fit right over the new LED.
