Default Replacing Drivers Side Mirror: How to or Advice Needed

Drivers Side Mirror has been acting up and sadly it's not the switch. I did the cleaning and no help. Passenger side works perfectly. The up and down tilt feature is no longer working so I think the internal motors are burnt out. They will work for a minute or two if you push on the mirror to assist them but that's about it. It's driving me crazy so I need to decide a plan of action.

1. Buy a whole new mirror assembly? Anyone know best source for new unit or discount code? I see sewell is no longer with us. I'm sure this option will be expensive.

2. Can the motors that control the mirror up and down movement be replaced? Is there a how to? Part numbers etc.

I think this is a common problem once these cars age a bit. I plan to keep her awhile so I like things working as new.

I've not had this issue, but I've seen existing thread(s) > I believe the motors are replaceable.

look under electrical section, your answer is in there.

always look in the FAQ thread and search before making a new thread.

Thank you. I saw the mirror dissection thread for the new motors but id rather go new at this point as i think install and downtime would be shorter. If I get a new mirror then I may take apart the old one and rebuild it and keep or sell it.

I'm not new here I"ve seen all those threads. None of them involved replacing the whole mirror assembly. It is not a power folding problem or a dirty switch, Thanks

you can remove the little cap thats behind the mirror, should be either 3/4 bolts holding it in. then just unclip the connector and the mirror is out.
