Default Door Check Replacement '01

Has anyone ever replaced the door check(s) on an '01 430? I think it is called a door check. It's the "arm" midway between the upper and lower hinge that keeps the door from opening too far. Mine make a horrible clicking noise when opened or closed.
I saw some info on tightening a torx head bolt to stop the clicking but that was on an '02 and the description of the check area was definitely different than my '01.

Yes.....?. Have you tried putting some grease on it? Might allow the hinge to move about more freely.

Kind of, I sprayed it very well with 100% silicone spray.

Try something a bit more viscous, like vasoline. A physical layer of grease should be more effective I imagine. Sry to hear about the trunk btw. Wish I could help.

Thanks CarGuy89. I'll see if I can't get some grease way back where it goes into the door.
Did you hear I got the trunk opened? Yep, put a spare key in the key lock and turned it with a pliers, really hard. Lube it up and work it a couple times and it works great!!!
