Default Power drivers seat

When the key is turned off the mirrors and steering wheel retract however the seat does not move back making it easier to get out. Should not the seat retract somewhat? My chrysler 300M does so I expected the Lexus to do the same.

Nope, unless it's a CBEST setting, my '04 does not retract the seats. Only mirrors fold (if you set the mirror adjust to left or right) and steering wheel retracts. Seats stay the same, and honestly, unless you're either very tall or very "round" then retracting the steering wheel is enough to give extra room to move out from your normal seating position.

The "best" year... ha ha. No idea, but when I was purchasing, I only tested '04 and '05 and none of them retracted back. Unless it was added JUST for '06, then probably not also...

You are not the first Chrysler driver who has asked this.

If you have difficulty getting out of your LS430, consider using memory button 3 to position the seat to an "exit position" before you get out. Some drivers set the seat cushion to maximum height to make it easier to get out.

Maybe it's what you get used to. If I remember correctly, it was an Infinity M35 I rented for a couple of weeks on vacation that automatically moved the driver's seat back when I pressed the "engine off" button. I hated that feature and the M35 in general. The seat was so far back that the door post was in the way of getting out.

Good idea. My button 3 is actually not doing anything. The first time I hit the button, I thought my car may had previously been owned by Shaq, it was full back and down low.

If you have SmartAccess, you can set your FOB to auto adjust to your setting once you enter the vehicle. So, if you press "3" to get out, when you enter, the car will be waiting for you in your set position.

I just did this with my button 3. I was annoyed that when I put the car in park and opened the door, the wheel did not retract. Like when you dropping off movies or have to get something out of the trunk. So I set my 3 to have the wheel retracted all the way. Helps alot, especially since i'm kinda "round"
