Post looking to buy an ls430

I am a newbie and am looking to buy LS430 (2002 or up). I currently own a 2002 Infiniti Q45.

I need help with the following

1. Is Ultra as reliable as others? Or should I stay away for air susp.
2. What should I expect in terms of maintenance cost per year?
3. Is any year better than others? I am looking for 2002 or up?
4. At 65k mi, what will be needed to put the car back in top notch condition.

2004 they added a bunch of features to the ls430. I also upgraded from a q45(1999) when it got totaled. The Lexus is so much nicer you can't even compare them. The Air suspension seems to be reliable though reports of failure come up every once in a while. At 65k miles, these cars will literally last forever, so little tune-up will be required. Even at 100k miles, your still just breaking the car in.

Thanks for the reply.

I am interested in finding out the average maintenace/repair cost per year.

Does air suspension rides better then regular? How much does it cost to fix it if it goes bad.

Mods, please remove if this is frowned upon:

OP, I see you're in VA as well, if you'd be willing to step into a 2001 w/ 53k miles then please consider my car

How would you rate the reliability of Ultra.

I too am planning to buy a 2001 LS430 with the Ultra - I am wondering how reliable the air suspension is and the package as a whole (are my kids gonna kill the back seat electronics quick? lol). The one I am going to buy just had the "280 point inspection" and the dealer says the right rear shock is probably going to fail (or something) in the next year... what does this mean, in terms of ride, safety and cost? Thanks in advance!

Assuming the suspension is still tight, at 65k miles you’re pretty much down to fluids and brakes. Make sure all the fluids are freshly flushed: trans, power steering, differential oil, brake fluid, coolant, engine oil. Brakes, worst case: pads and rotors if needed. You may throw in spark plugs while you are at it. There is no need to get robed by the stealer on any of this. A good mechanic and fluid specialist should be able to under cut the dealer cost by half. Once you are set on all of this, it should be clear driving up to the 90k timing belt service.

I am also in the market for an LS430 and have the same questions. Although, what is the difference in years from 01 on up? It's the same body style correct?
