LS400 Wheels Spacer advice
Hey CL gang,
I've been doing some research spacers but wanted to ask the forum for some insight-
Here is my question- I need to run spacers, at least 15mm.
Is it better to go with the H&R DRS kit (spacer and extended lug bolts)
or the
H&R DRM kit (spacer with built in lug bolts that fits onto existing hub and gem bolts)
I've got 18x9.5's to put on my 1995 LS400.
I need to run spacer in the front to clear the brakes and so the inside of the rim doesn't rub the control arms.
Any suggestions from the pro's on here would be great.

I've used the bolt on ones before too, but on my old SC. 15mm and 25mm, and they worked just fine. Try to get the ones with the hex bolts, instead of the bolts that require a key with the four prongs. I had some prongs break, and I had to order a new key.

Thanks OneJay. No issues running open ended lugs right? Like Muteki lugs?

I would definitely stay away from generic adapters and studs. The safety issues abound. Pick a brand with a rep for quality in this type of application, H&R, Eibach, Project Kic's, etc...
Adapter (bolt-on) vs. stud/spacer depends on your application and intentions. If the wheels you're using don't have flycuts in the mounting face for the factory studs to protrude into, adapters are pretty much out unless you're comfortable cutting the factory studs down to fit behind the wheels, which heavily limits you running the car without the adapters at all.
Generally speaking, I advise adapters only if you're getting a of spacers thick enough to keep the factory studs contained within them OR if your planned wheels have the relief cuts in the faces to give the OEM studs somewhere to go. Otherwise, Studs/spacers.
I've had 15mm H&R DRS for ~7 years without issue on my LS.
