It will work on the LBJ but you might have to do some manipulation of the suspenion to find a good angle at it. Or unbolt the LBJ and it will work fine! Also, get a socket that fits the head of the bolt. Mine was a 24mm socket, which I have, but not everyone might....

What a difference a tool makes...
Big THANKS to puredrifter - you da man!
So, I bought the ball joint puller from Napa, and it was way to small - around 7/8", when ideal opening is around 1 1/8" (so whatever tool you use, make sure the opening is that big, otherwise it won't fit!). It should also not be bigger than about 1 3/8 otherwise it will slip off.
The best tool for UCA is Autozone tool number 27022. Autozone rents it for $12 for 90 days, or if you keep it beyond that, you bought it. It's opening is exactly 1 1/8.
Compare that to the other tool from Napa, $30.00 and it does not work. It was not exactly the same as the tool that Shmee posted, but I thought it was...
Or compare that to O'Reilly's tool which slips, and is a pita to use, and you can only keep it for two days.
I am thinking I may even just keep this one from Autozone. It made my job a breeze, cannot believe how easy it was - just put it on, screw it in, and pop it goes. And to think that I wasted hours before I finally gave in and drove to Autozone...
BTW, speaking of UCA, I installed Dorman and those are really beefy and looking just as good as the OEM. Just wanted to say that those are really good replacements it seems. And they are not made in China (I think it was Taiwan).

I used the brutal method, place it between the dust cover seal and the top of the hub mount then hit it in with a large hammer, obviously wrecks the rubber boot but doesn't matter as the UCA is scrap anyway.
