transmission fluid check, help
I been searching how to correctly check the tranny fluid of a 90 LS400 but i found very different answers, last time the car was warm, about 30 min idling and then about 5 miles run, when i got the stick, tranny was at P (parked) and the stick was marking at top of cold, the hot part was clean, are this correct or i need more fluid?
Thanks
Thanks

after a thorough drive, and the transmission good and hot, come to a stop on very level ground and slowly shift though each gear, ending up in park, and then with it still running in park, the level should be at the hot mark (top hole or top of crosshatch area, after wiping down the dipstick and reinserting it
also, a slight bit over is OK, and better than being under filled
