Default 96 ls400 problems help :(

Hi I just purchased an ls400 but there it came with problems
1 is that the fuel gauge stays at the same spot with the refill light on the whole time it does not move or anything. the only time it moves is when i stick my key in or out. I did research and take out my cluster and took it to my friend's dad electrical place but the cluster was still good. do i need to replace the sending unit or anything? its really scary driving around the car like this

another problem is there is leak somewhere i think its the power steering pump, do you guys recommend buying rebuilt kit, rebuilt pump, or a brand new one off the dealer

these are common problems, start by reading the stickies at the beginning of the forum and you will get up to snuff on your car and how to take care of it... address the PS pump first (you can keep fuel in it) and you might save your Alternator..
Welcome aboard and good luck...

i guess it wasnt the power steering leak, it was the cam and crank seals.
