Default 98 LS400 w/ 140K miles

Contemplating getting a newer LS.

Saw this online black on black with 140k miles, fully loaded for $7000

What should I look out for?

Is that too high a mileage for the year?

Price reasonable?

Personally, I think the price is a little high. That said, a car that old with such low mileage I think it could be the original owner. If so, find out when the TB was done which is a pretty good expense and if its due don't wait.

I bought my 99 sept, 9, 2010 for 6500$ with 160k on it, but had all the service records, plus I backed them up at lexus. I have replaced the T&T motor (was not working when I bought it). It just turned over 170k yesterday. No other problems have surfaced. thinking on that, I think it could be a little over priced..... but not much.. they are great cars, plus the 98 models had the old style T&T motors that you could fix with a garden hose washer.....
Go for it!! here is mine:

that's about the kbb price of the car. i would look if the timing belt was done and if the power steering hose is leaking. these cars can go well into the 300k range if properly maintained. you can search around and see the range of mileage the owners are getting.

Default Too high

I bought my '98 in '08 with 141k for $6K, that should be negotiable.

Well, you have to admit that was quite a steal back in '08....unless the condition was poor. Paying $6k for a '98 with 141k now is a great deal. But I'm in SoCal where these LS models hold their value superbly well.
